US Vice President JD Vance announced that Iran’s first 10-point proposal has been rejected. He said discussions are now focused on a new set of points. Talks are ongoing with both Iran and Pakistan to reach a workable agreement.
In media comments, JD Vance accused some Iranian sources of spreading propaganda. He claimed that reports suggesting the US is negotiating the original 10 points are false. According to him, Iran’s initial proposal is effectively discarded and no longer under consideration.
The vice president also addressed the upcoming high-level meetings in Pakistan. He confirmed that he and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will arrive in Islamabad to continue negotiations. He emphasized that discussions focus on ensuring the Strait of Hormuz remains open and sanctions leverage is applied responsibly.

Regarding the ceasefire, JD Vance noted that violations are common and expected, but agreed agreements must remain respected. He also clarified misunderstandings regarding Lebanon, stating that the US never required Lebanon to join the ceasefire, though Iran initially assumed it would.
Finally, JD Vance stressed that progress depends on Iran taking concrete steps. He said the US can offer relief and incentives, but only in response to tangible Iranian actions. The US rejects Iran’s initial 10-point proposal, and talks continue in Pakistan with new proposals under discussion.
